Senior Systems EngineerBarnstaple based (with a mix of hybrid and onsite working) As a Senior Systems Engineer for the Royal Navy Maritime Electronic Warfare Programme (MEWP), you will play a critical role in delivering intelligent countermeasures systems and support, helping to protect our country and our armed forces serving at sea. The MEWP contract, to deliver our Ancilia Trainable Decoy Launcher to the Royal Navy, was awarded based on our proven maritime domain expertise and track record of delivering, upgrading, and sustaining high-end capabilities to the Royal Navy. Winning this contract will provide dedicated employment opportunities and sustain jobs for over 150 skilled and professional employees. A Senior Systems Engineer for the Maritime Electronic Warfare Programme (MEWP) – SEA’s largest contract award to date – will play a critical part in delivery, product development and customer relationships.What You’ll be DoingA Senior Systems Engineer typically carries out the following activities:-
  • Defining and Managing Requirements throughout the Engineering Lifecycle
  • Proving Technical inputs to bidding activities
  • Integration and production qualification activities
  • Work Package generation and execution
  • Define system architectures that will drive system design.
  • Carryout system integration verification and validation activities and manage issue resolution.
  • Coordinate directly with internal and external customers.
  • Prepare documentation and presentation material to effectively communicate technical subject matter to audiences at working and senior management level.
  • Plan and track progress of engineering assignments within agreed schedules, to quality standards and budget in accordance with project and company processes.
  • Assist in the evaluation of new technology and methods.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to the Business Development function including the generation of technical proposals and bids.
The Skills you Need
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the Verification and Validation
  • A good understanding of requirements capture and experience of using DOORS to manage requirements
  • Experience of UK MOD Maritime Communication Equipment would be desirable
  • Excellent Communication Skills
