Exciting Contract Opportunity: Senior Designer (15 Positions) - BAE Systems Submarines

Are you an experienced designer looking for an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge submarine projects? Our client is seeking 15 Senior Designers on a contract basis to join our dynamic team. If you have a strong understanding of design processes, tools, and techniques and want to broaden your knowledge and experience in submarine design, this is the perfect role for you!

• Design and develop solutions for a range of design challenges using FORAN or other design tools.

• Apply fundamental design processes, tools, and systems effectively.

• Expand knowledge and experience in submarine design.

• Develop models, drawings, and other design outputs to meet contractual requirements.

• Communicate effectively with key stakeholders, including external customers and operations teams.

• Perform self-verification of tasks to ensure quality and accuracy.

• Support and mentor designers and apprentices within the team.

• Continually seek improvements in processes, tools, and techniques.

• Engage in high-risk and high-complexity tasks under project leader guidance.

Knowledge & Experience:

• Strong understanding of design techniques and industrial design processes.

• Proficiency in using design tools, company standards, and systems.

• Ability to work autonomously while adhering to professional engineering principles.

• Experience in developing and mentoring junior designers or apprentices.

Skills:

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications:

• Typically on an IEng career path, working towards chartership with an HNC/HND.
