Morson Talent are recruiting a Quality Engineer to join the team with our prestigious client at their site in Barrow In Furness, this role is on-site full time.


Role Description

Our client is looking for someone with experience in driving quality focused improvement projects, and to support root cause analysis.


Six Sigma (green or black belt would be advantageous). Experience in improvement in an engineering setting would be beneficial. Experience or knowledge of how to contain major issues.

Core Duties

Completing Root Cause Analysis of significant quality issues using recognised techniques e.g. Ishikawa, 5 Whys, relevant statistical analysis of data
Responding to and containing major quality issues, conducting bounding of issues quickly and effectively as they occur
Leading and/or supporting major quality improvement projects on long-standing and complex quality issues. Progress projects through the DMAIC cycle using six sigma methods and techniques.
Gathering, analysing and interpreting large data sets to identify areas of quality improvement.
Stakeholder management to drive improvement e.g. facilitating meetings with multi-disciplinary groups and subject matter experts, communicating key findings and business implications at a senior management level.
Producing clear reports summarising findings, evidence and recommendations for improvement in response to quality issues


Knowledge

Knowledge of ISO 9001/ EN9100 standards
Understanding of Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance process
Knowledge of product safety
Understanding the importance of cross functional integration
Export requirements knowledge (for example International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)) (where applicable)

Skills

Microsoft Office (excel in particular) Mini tab & SAP would be desirable
