Senior Designer - Mechanical

Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a Senior Designer - Mechanical with a background in the nuclear or defence sector to be engaged on a permanent basis in Barrow.

What you will be doing:

• 
  You will be producing 3D models of either Pipe routes, HVAC systems or mechanical compartment arrangements using the CAD toolset
• 
  Your responsibilities will also include producing 2D drawings and electronic data and BoM item development to a fast - paced schedule to support manufacturing, installation, and testing of our products
• 
  Develop and maintain close working relationships with other Design team members and Stakeholders who are working towards the same common goal
• 
  Working as a team to produce an Integrated Design that meets our client's expectations and agreed set of requirements

Your skills and experiences:

• 
  Understanding of CAD toolsets and techniques e.g. Foran, Solidworks and Siemens NX etc. in both 2D (Diagrams) and 3D outputs (drawings and models)
• 
  Understanding of mechanical routed systems at both 2D and 3D level in either piping or HVAC design
• 
  Experience in Mechanical Compartment Integration / Room Integration and or Engineering Standards at Component / Equipment level
• 
  HNC / ONC level or degree qualification in relevant STEM subject or equivalent work experience
