Duration- 12 Months

Rates can vary depending on shift patterns.

Location-LA14 1AF

To conduct machining activities on-board the submarine units, using machines best suited to the task in accordance with the skills of the relevant In-situ Machinist. To work to drawing tolerances/parameters and quality requirements.
In-situ Machining Competence supported with Skills Knowledge and Experience. All work conducted in accordance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of and Operating Line Boring and Gantry Milling Machines, understanding Surface finishes and how to achieve them

Core Duties
• Work safely at all times, complying with Health and Safety and other relevant regulations and guidelines.
• Follow the relevant instructions, drawings and any other specifications, to produce work to the correct quality standards
• Use the appropriate methods and techniques to conduct machining activities.
• Check the completed activity to ensure that all operations have been completed to meet the required specification.

Qualifications:

• Served and Approved Apprenticeship (In-situ machinist, Machinist, Mechanical, Fitter/Turner)
• NVQ Level 3 Equivalent Qualification
