Morson are recruiting for a SHE Advisor for our leading Defence Client, at their site in Barrow in Furness,

Candidates must be ok to work 5 days on site/week and is an initial 6 month contract.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead activities associated with improving SHE practice and performance within Weapon Systems UK, including (but not limited to): deployment and implementation of SHE Policy and Management Systems, SHE objectives and targets, provision of competent SHE advice on risk management and control, collation and provision of SHE performance reports (such as incidents, audits, regulatory issues), investigation and reporting of incidents in accordance with regulatory and/or customer requirements, provision of an effective interface with regulators and representatives dealing with liability issues
  • Support the development and implementation of innovative SHE change programmes, ensuring consistency and effective improvement in SHE risk management and embedding a culture of continuous improvement and the sharing of best practices
  • Exposure to various business units and potential opportunities to travel Nationally and/or Internationally

Your skills and experiences:

  • Hold one or more of the following QCF/NQF Level 3 (or higher) SHE qualifications: NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety; Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Safety and Health Practice; IEMA or NEBOSH Certificate in Environmental Management; or an equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
  • Comprehensive and contemporary understanding of safety, health and environmental management standards and practice (including but not limited too ISO45001 and ISO14001)
  • Experience in supporting safety audits
  • In depth understanding of SHE requirements, internal and external best practice and able to bring their experience to articulate these in order to ensure effective deployment within their work area.

Safety Health Environment (SHE) & Facilities team:

The successful candidate will have the ability to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders within the immediate business as well as demonstrating integrity, credibility and maturity to gain the confidence and respect of other. There is a potential to develop into a SHE Manager in the future
