Job Title: Registered Manager

Halcyon Health and Social Care Cumbria is excited and proud to be working alongside a family-owned residential care provider based in Barrow-in-Furness. With an excellent reputation, their number one priority is to provide the highest quality of care to the elderly who require nursing, personal care, or suffer from dementia and physical disabilities. The property is a 26-bedroom care home, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. Nestled in its own grounds and surrounded by beautiful gardens, it offers a warm and homely atmosphere. Role: Registered Care Home Manager

  • Salary: £40,000
  • Occupancy Bonus: Up to £4,000 per year

Responsibilities:

As a Care Home Manager, you will lead the home and its existing team of dedicated, long-serving, and enthusiastic employees to deliver outstanding levels of care to our residents. You will:

  • Manage the business and ensure the home operates effectively and delivers the highest quality care.
  • Act as an ambassador, representing the heart and face of the home to key decision-makers, building a strong reputation within the local community, and working towards excellence.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the Registration Authority, comply with legal and statutory requirements, and represent the Home as the Registered Manager.
  • Review staff skills and knowledge, ensuring high-quality care through training, supervisions, and appraisals.
  • Be involved in care planning for residents.
  • Foster an open and honest culture where all staff have the opportunity to thrive.
  • Maximize the financial performance of the home.
  • Handle stock purchases and budgetary control of all consumable items required for daily operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Experience in the healthcare sector, ideally as a Registered Manager with a Level 5 qualification (or RMA), or as a motivated Deputy Manager ready for the next step in your career. Financial support is available for those needing to complete their Level 5.
