Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced EC&I Engineer with experience in the nuclear industry to be engaged on a permanent basis to be located in Barrow with flexible hybrid working.
What you'll be doing:
- Developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of plant
- Support or act as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups (depending on experience)
- Specialise in EC&I discipline
- Author Chief Engineer Declaration Statements based on engineering review of the as-built/as-tested status of the plant to support entry into build phase
- Carry out nuclear safety assessment of design changes and deviations from the design intent
- Ensuring the design intent of the Plant is maintained during build and text activities on site
- Providing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to clients
- Proving an interface with Build/Test teams for engineering solutions
- Enabling efficient programme execution with engineering solutions
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering
- Experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems
- Demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces
- Technical report writing skills
Desirable:
- Experience of justifying design change, ideally within nuclear
- Previous Nuclear experience
- Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations (or other highly regulated industry)
- Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite
