Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for an experienced EC&I Engineer with experience in the nuclear industry to be engaged on a permanent basis to be located in Barrow with flexible hybrid working.
What you'll be doing:

  • Developing sound technical solutions to issues arising during construction and commissioning of plant
  • Support or act as the engineering member of the test and authorisation groups (depending on experience)
  • Specialise in EC&I discipline
  • Author Chief Engineer Declaration Statements based on engineering review of the as-built/as-tested status of the plant to support entry into build phase
  • Carry out nuclear safety assessment of design changes and deviations from the design intent
  • Ensuring the design intent of the Plant is maintained during build and text activities on site
  • Providing technical rationale and sound engineering recommendations to clients
  • Proving an interface with Build/Test teams for engineering solutions
  • Enabling efficient programme execution with engineering solutions

Your skills and experiences:
Essential:

  • Degree qualified Electrical Engineering or Control and Instrumentation Engineering
  • Experience of supporting build and commissioning of Electrical and/or Control Systems
  • Demonstrable understanding of 3 phase/single phase machines; digital and analogue based control systems and mechanical interfaces
  • Technical report writing skills

Desirable:

  • Experience of justifying design change, ideally within nuclear
  • Previous Nuclear experience
  • Knowledge of the Nuclear Industry and Nuclear Regulations (or other highly regulated industry)
  • Exposure to Microsoft Office Suite
