£47.00 - £62.02 per hour

Morson have an exciting opportunity to support one of our defence clients as a project professional within the production of defence vehicles. You will be responsible for managing project processes and the resources on constantly evolving projects. We need a strong Project skillset, with experience in defence, aerospace, marine, nuclear, engineering or construction.

The role is being offered on a 6-month contract, with hybrid working on a minimum requirement of 3 days a week on site in Barrow-in-Furness. There is an opportunity for extension or permanent conversion and we can offer the role at a rate £47 per hour PAYE or £62.02 per hour Umbrella.

Responsibilities

  • Operate one or more of the PM processes on a project.
  • You will be expected to work independently on various PM processes.
  • Apply your knowledge in one or more areas of PM practice to routine circumstances and seek and follow guidance on their adaptation and application in more complex circumstances.
  • Query resolution of basic and routine problems.
  • Administrative and general office skills including spreadsheets/ Microsoft packages.
  • Accountable as a member of the Project Management team for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored Project Management practices.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience of schedule management, cost management, forecasting, EAC, risk management in terms of driving mitigations from a risk perspective.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of PM policies, processes, procedures and systems.
  • PM experience demonstrated in a professional capacity within a project.
  • Understanding of one or more PM tools techniques and practices.
  • Problem solving to apply in an existing Business environment.
  • Basic understanding of the team structure, organisation and processes of the project, so as to be able to support implementation of appropriate PM approaches.
  • An ability to gather information. Supports development of solutions and of implementation approaches.
  • Needs to take responsibility for own performance and development.
  • Ability to make judgments on analysis of factual information.

Desired Requirements

  • University level education or professional qualifications gained through industry.
  • Awareness of commercial practices in the defence industry.
  • Knowledge of PM governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
  • Good understanding of the wider PM environment, and of developments and practices in the field.
  • An ability to apply problem solving techniques to routine situations or situations of moderate complexity

Recognising the RESTRICTED nature of the work, suitable candidates will need to be SC cleared or eligible for this level of clearance before starting on site
