Job Opportunity: Safety Case Developer - Nuclear Site
Join our team and contribute to the safety of nuclear operations! We are seeking a skilled professional to assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the nuclear site safety case.
The role is fully remote apart from once a month onsite Visits to Barrow In Furness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hazard identification and analysis
- Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments
- Supporting ongoing periodic reviews of safety activities
- Assisting with regulatory discussions (ONR/DNSR)
- Collaborating with engineering and human factors teams for substantiation
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering or an equivalent science/engineering discipline
- Extensive experience in Safety Case development, ideally in Nuclear or other high-hazard industries
- Familiarity with Naval Nuclear programs is a plus
Skills:
- Strong communication and stakeholder interaction abilities
- Clear, concise, and logical writing skills
- Influential in challenging environments
Qualifications:
- Degree in engineering or equivalent (Expected/Preferred)
- Experience in safety case authoring and understanding modern nuclear safety standards
- Familiarity with nuclear safety cases for submarines is an advantage
- Experience in maritime, defense, or safety engineering industries
