Job Opportunity: Safety Case Developer - Nuclear Site

Join our team and contribute to the safety of nuclear operations! We are seeking a skilled professional to assist in the development and ongoing improvement of the nuclear site safety case.

The role is fully remote apart from once a month onsite Visits to Barrow In Furness.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Hazard identification and analysis
  • Deterministic and probabilistic safety assessments
  • Supporting ongoing periodic reviews of safety activities
  • Assisting with regulatory discussions (ONR/DNSR)
  • Collaborating with engineering and human factors teams for substantiation


Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering or an equivalent science/engineering discipline
  • Extensive experience in Safety Case development, ideally in Nuclear or other high-hazard industries
  • Familiarity with Naval Nuclear programs is a plus

Skills:

  • Strong communication and stakeholder interaction abilities
  • Clear, concise, and logical writing skills
  • Influential in challenging environments

Qualifications:

  • Degree in engineering or equivalent (Expected/Preferred)
  • Experience in safety case authoring and understanding modern nuclear safety standards
  • Familiarity with nuclear safety cases for submarines is an advantage
  • Experience in maritime, defense, or safety engineering industries
