Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities? Join our dedicated Clinical Psychology team in South Cumbria, where you'll provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy within the Community Learning Disabilities Service.
Job Summary:
To provide a Clinical Psychology Service to individuals in receipt of services from the Community Learning Disabilities Service across the South Cumbria footprint within The Bay locality, including the provision of enhanced specialist psychological assessment and therapy, working within the policies, procedures and protocols applicable to the service.
To offer advice and consultation on individualsā psychological care to psychology and non-psychology colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the serviceās policies and procedures. To develop advanced skills in consultancy by implementing formal systems of consultancy within the nominated team(s), as directed and guided by your Locality Professional Lead and their deputies.
To work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the designated area of responsibility.
To utilise research skills, audit, policy and service development and research and implement policy changes within the areas served by the team/service in agreement with the relevant manager.
Requirements:
- Doctoral level training in clinical psychology (HCPC) registered and practicing.
- Doctoral-level expertise in research methodology, research design, and complex multivariate data analysis within clinical psychology.
- Strong communication skills for conveying complex, technical, and sensitive information to clients, families, carers, and colleagues.
- Extensive experience working with diverse client groups, including adults with learning disabilities, while maintaining professionalism in highly emotive and distressing situations.
- Proven ability in teaching, training, supervising, conducting complex audits/research, and managing organizational stress.
