Reed Business Support are working in partnership with our long-standing and highly prestigious client, based in Barrow-in-Furness to recruit for an Accounts Administrator, to join their established team on a full time and permanent basis.

The successful candidates roles and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Manage bookkeeping and accounting processes for a wide range of clients as well as the businesses own accounts.
  • Work as part of the Direct Debits team managing the DD processes on behalf of clients.
  • Use Sage 50 Cloud accounts for financial management.
  • Handle reconciliation of company and client bank accounts.
  • Calculate monthly depreciation, accruals, and prepayments.
  • Complete VAT returns and submit them online.
  • Prepare monthly profit and loss and balance sheets for clients.
  • Manage clients’ cheque and cash banking.
  • Handle company sales and purchase ledger.
  • Oversee payment of general expenses, supplier payments, and all client funds by BACS.
  • Create Direct Credit files to pay clients’ prizes, profit, and company purchase invoices and expenses.
  • Undertake other general commercial activities as required.

The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience with Sage 50 Cloud accounts or similar financial software.
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing with clients and team members professionally.
  • A genuine team player who is professional, personable, and well-presented.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Well-organised, able to prioritise, and have a methodical approach to work.
