Reed Education is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Science Teacher to join a dynamic secondary school in South Cumbria. The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of the curriculum and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Delivering engaging Science lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels, and potentially KS5.
  • Preparing lesson plans, materials, and resources that align with curriculum standards.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing feedback to promote improvement.
  • Maintaining a well-managed classroom and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Building rapport with students and providing mentorship as a positive role model.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model for students.
  • Good interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
