Morson is delighted to be working in partnership with a market leading defence organisation to recruit a Stores Person for an initial 6 month contract. There is a rate of £17.20 PAYE Per Hour or £22.36 Per Hour Umbrella on offer for the successful candidate. The is based in Barrow In Furness.

Please find the role description below:

To manage the control of materials, tools and consumables from receipt to despatch / delivery whilst maintaining system applications and running metric reports to comply with business standards.

Typical duties include:

• The accurate receipt, replenishment, issue, transfer and / or delivery of materials, tools and consumables using relevant Logistics systems and processes (including calibration and maintenance of equipment).
• Carry out inventory checks and undertake stock discrepancies activity to reconcile inventory records.
• Collation of transport data such as quantity of pallets collected where required, tachographs as appropriate (for transport specific employees).
• Run relevant data reports using systems based applications and communicate as required.
• Control and management of reverse logistics.
• Adherence to Logistics Process Instructions.
• Use of radio and or relevant communication methods as required.
• Support loading and unloading of vehicles in a safe and timely manner and in line with company procedures.
• Conduct basic checks prior to using company vehicles or equipment and ensure that defects are recorded and reported promptly.
• Ensure compliance with site safety standards (including pedestrian safety).
• Support audit activities as required.
• Operation of tooling and mechanical handling equipment to support receipt and issue of material as required, in a safe manner complying with company operating procedures at all times.

Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge:


• Problem Solving - you objectively identify problems
• Commercial Sales, to issue materials ready for onwards/exportation to the customer
• Ideally in a similar role before, although this is preferred.
• Working Safely – You are conscientious and take responsibility for your own safety and the safety of the customer
• Receipt of external Purchase orders
• Receipt of internally manufactured parts
• Receipt of parts returned from supplier following modification or repair (ADSUBCON)
• Receipt of parts returned from production (RTS), Return to store
• Receipt of new tooling
• Receipt of internally transferred parts

Skills:


• Teamwork
• Communication
• IT literate and able to run reports on software such as SAP and Microsoft Programmes including but not limited to Excel, PowerPoint, Word.
