Sonic Summary

The Systems Engineer - IVV position is based in Barrow-in-Furness and requires on-site presence 3–4 days a week.
This is a 12-month contract role offering an hourly rate of £56.62 Umbrella, classified as INSIDE IR35.
Candidates should have solid experience with Control & Instrumentation systems and a strong knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle.
The role demands familiarity with Defence and Industry Standards, along with experience in leading design and verification work packages.
Applicants should possess a minimum of several years of relevant experience in systems engineering.

Interpret complex technical requirements to support IV&V strategy execution.
Design and develop technical specifications and support systems integration.
Develop and manage systems engineering documentation including requirements, test plans, and acceptance criteria.
Ensure systems meet customer needs through robust qualification and test activities.
Provide technical leadership on work packages and Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems.
Apply systems lifecycle best practices throughout test system development.
Support customers in-service and troubleshoot technical issues.

Required Skills and Experience

Solid understanding and hands-on experience with Control & Instrumentation systems.
Strong knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle and methodologies.
Familiarity with relevant Defence and Industry Standards (e.g. IEC 61508/61511, ARP 4754, DO-178C/DO-254).
Experience leading design and verification work packages.
