Job Description:
We are currently seeking a Thread Rolling Setting Operator to join our team in Barrow in Furness. The ideal candidate will have experience in thread rolling, with a strong ability to use adjustment screws, shims, and other techniques to position dies and calibrate machines. This role involves ensuring the correct loading of metal and monitoring the thread rolling process to ensure top-quality results.
Responsibilities:
- Set up the machine: Use adjustment screws, shims, and other techniques to position the dies for thread rolling.
- Calibrate the machine: Ensure the machine is set up to create precise threads as required by specifications.
- Load the metal: Accurately load the metal into the machine for processing.
- Monitor the process: Ensure each thread meets the highest quality standards and troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the process.
- Thread rolling: Operate the machine to roll threads through a cold working process, using rotating dies to compress a machined blank into a threaded part.
Thread Rolling Process:
Thread rolling is a cold working process that does not remove material, but instead uses rotating dies to compress the workpiece into the desired threaded shape. It's different from traditional metal cutting and grinding techniques, requiring a precise and calibrated approach.

Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a thread rolling setting operator or similar role in precision manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of machine calibration and die setup techniques.
- Ability to monitor and maintain high-quality standards throughout the thread rolling process.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
