This is a site-based role, if you aren’t local and relocation isn’t an option, a willingness to stay in the local area weekly is an option.This is a brand new position for the company, to provide strategic direction across the SHE function. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping safety practices in a complex operational environment, with responsibilities including managing SHE risks like confined spaces, working at height, high voltage systems, and more. Reporting into the SHE Director and the Manufacturing Director and lead a team of 3 in providing strategic leadership, in a ‘boots on the ground’ role.  Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the SHE function, providing expert advice and developing SHE strategies, policies, and objectives.
  • Drive positive change and mature the safety culture
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to embed SHE strategies across the business.
  • Oversee SHE risk management, regulatory compliance (ISO 45001, ISO 14001), and maintain strong relationships with external regulators.
  • Ensure the delivery of SHE improvements that support sustainable program delivery.
  • Tackle meaningful and momentous projects
Qualifications and skills:
  • NEBOSH Diploma, or equivalent is essential
  • Chartered membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., IOSH) would be desirable
  • Proven SHE leadership experience in a large, complex organisation, ideally with multi-site, manufacturing, or engineering environments.
  • Comfortable in navigating fast-paced, heavily regulated environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, experience implementing SHE management systems across diverse environments, and a collaborative approach to influence senior stakeholders effectively.
