What will your role look like?

  • Deputise for the Registered Manager, ensuring a positive, person-centred environment
  • Handle administration and provide weekly management reports
  • Plan and oversee shifts, ensuring smooth operations
  • Supervise staff, ensuring clarity on duties and care plans
  • Support staff development through training, supervision, and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations
  • Conduct staff appraisals and address performance issues
  • Manage budgets, finances, and attendance records
  • Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings
  • Engage in direct work with young people as a role model
  • Maintain accurate records for monitoring and evaluation

Are you the right person for the job?

  • You will ideally hold a QCF Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People, though those with a strong background in management and transferable skills will be considered on individual merit
  • Ideally have prior experience working in a Children's Residential Setting
  • Possess strong leadership skills
  • Have a Person-centred approach to create a safe, nurturing environment
  • Be organised and proactive, capable of handling administration and shift planning
