Teaching Assistant (1:1 Role) - KS2 Support for ALN Pupil

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Teaching Assistant with experience in interventions to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and behavioral challenges. This rewarding role is based in Barry, begins in January 2024, and runs until the end of the academic year in July 2024.



About the Role

  • Hours: Full-time, term-time only

Responsibilities Include:

  • Working 1:1 with a KS2 pupil, providing tailored support to address their learning and behavioral needs.
  • Collaborating closely with the class teacher to create and implement individualized plans for the student.
  • Utilizing trauma-informed practices to support the pupil, particularly those who have experienced adverse childhood experiences.
  • Delivering targeted interventions to help the student achieve academic, social, and emotional growth.
  • Monitoring progress and adapting strategies to meet evolving needs.


Requirements

  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with ALN, behavioral challenges, and delivering interventions.
  • Skills: A strong understanding of trauma-informed approaches and the ability to connect with children with adverse experiences.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, resilience, and a passion for supporting children with unique challenges to thrive in a school environment.
