Job Purpose:

Master Production Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining the master production schedule, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and implementing best practices to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles.

Please note this is a 12 months fixed term contract.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Sales & other related Depts to ensure production plan/PTS reflects customer requirements
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing, engineering, and Supplier capacity planners to ensure the availability of materials and resources necessary to meet production plan
  • Monitor production performance and make adjustments to the production schedule as necessary to ensure on-time delivery of vehicles
  • Allocate customer orders into vehicle ‘slots’ in the production schedule – ensure delivery dates are met, supply lead times respected, production constraints are not broken and level demand where possible. Analyse demand patterns and production constraints
  • Track aged WIP in the factory process against required PTS dates and communicate with production and factory planner where required
  • Planning of factory areas such as Tubs, Trim and Paint
  • Ensure the correct cars are PTS to support Sales targets and car shipping.
  • Develop and maintain production planning tools, including capacity planning models, production schedules.
  • Manage all related production control data to maintain smooth flow & promote continuous improvement
  • Ensure planning systems are accurately maintained.
  • Liaise with Launch Team for the scheduling of Product Development cars within Production schedule.
  • Ensure Working Capital / work in progress is optimised across all manufacturing facilities.
  • Support in the creation and manage key metric dashboards for use by the business to manage throughput targets and constraints tracking.
  • Lead improvement activities and drive to improve KPI’s.
  • Reflect learnings to New Model scheduling to improve Launch activity.
  • Support / lead any other related tasks to maintain or improve production scheduling & execution.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Experience in vehicle or production planning, ideally in the automotive industry (production).
  • Ability to communicate with tact and diplomacy, together with the ability to work accurately and efficiently, taking resourceful action during periods of considerable pressure.
  • Understanding of S/OP process
  • The ability to create & use business intelligence tools such as Power BI / SSRS / Domo / Birst including writing SQL queries would be preferable.
  • Degree or Higher diploma qualified or equivalent preferable.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the business
  • Experience using an ERP system in a Planning role
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel or Tableau
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or STEM subject
