Calibration & Verification of Retail Scales



Are you a skilled, self-motivated engineer looking for an exciting opportunity? Concept are recruiting for an IT / EPOS Engineer / Workshop Engineer to join our team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. The role involves the calibration and verification of retail scanner scales in our customer's warehouse facilities in Pentwyn and Eastgate, Cardiff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calibration & verification of retail scanner scales in a warehouse environment.
  • Work primarily in Pentwyn, with occasional travel to Eastgate, Cardiff.
  • Follow written instructions and input details into a tablet spreadsheet for documentation.
  • Handle and lift scanner scales and PC units (up to 15kg), so physical capability is required.

Ideal Candidate:

  • EPOS Engineering Familiarity: Experience with EPOS or retail technology is ideal, especially with scale and scanner setups.
  • Literate and Numerate: Ability to follow written instructions and input data accurately.
  • Self-starter: Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a warehouse environment and able to lift weights (up to 15kg).
  • Local to Wales: Must be based locally to avoid mileage costs and be able to commute to both sites.

Rate Details / Working Hours:

  • 9am - 5.30pm with 30 min unpaid lunch - 30mins either way for travel (9 hours total)
  • 146.70per day via either umbrella / ltd company
  • This role has been deemed and assessed an outside IR35 role. Should you wish to us a your ltd company, relevant ltd company insurances will need to be supplied
  • Rates are subject to deductions and weekly umbrella fee (if applicable)
