A Primary school in Barry are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated, hard working, Higher Level Teaching Assistant who has the initiative and drive to work as part of their forward thinking Foundation team. You will be required to work across all areas within a primary school. You should possess a sound knowledge of working with, or caring for, children, ideally combined with an awareness of policies and procedures relating to child protection.

The successful applicant will display good behaviour management skills, backed by the ability to communicate effectively with members of staff and parents. You should be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.

HLTA roles will include:

* Manage and deliver pastoral and learning support.

* Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.

* To work with pupils understanding how to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop.

* To work with the SENCO and other teachers to develop and implement IEPs and behaviour mentoring plans.

* To understand the individual needs of children and be responsible for advising them on social, health and hygiene development.

* To report on pupil achievements and adjust their work as necessary.
