Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN)? We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a nurturing and supportive Primary School in Barry, working within their Special Resource Base (SRB). This is an exciting opportunity to support a small group of children with a range of needs in a purpose-built, inclusive environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support to children with ALN, including ASD, ADHD, and those undergoing diagnosis or awaiting special provision placements.

  • Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting social and emotional development.

  • Support children with their individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to their progress and assessment.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, ALNCOs, Parents & Guardians.

  • Provide personal care and emotional support when required.



Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with ALN in a school or similar setting.

  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting children's individual needs.

  • Ability to adapt to different learning styles and implement positive behaviour management strategies.

  • DBS certificate (Enhanced) registered with the Update Service.

  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or support work (desirable but not essential).
