About the Role: Our client, Vale of Glamorgan Council, is seeking an experienced and committed Supervising Social Worker to join their Pathway & Permanence Team. This role focuses on supporting foster carers and ensuring the stability and permanence of placements for children and young people in care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, support, and assess foster carers to ensure high-quality placements for children in care.

  • Conduct regular home visits, assessments, and training sessions for foster carers.

  • Work collaboratively with children, foster families, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes.

  • Contribute to care planning and permanence planning to ensure long-term stability for children and young people.

  • Provide professional guidance, risk assessments, and safeguarding interventions where necessary.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.

  • Participate in placement matching and review meetings to ensure the best outcomes for children.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified social worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) with current Social Care Wales registration.

  • Experience working within fostering, children's services, or permanence teams.

  • Strong knowledge of The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, fostering regulations, and safeguarding policies.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and professionals.

  • Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.

  • Commitment to promoting stability, well-being, and positive futures for children in care.
