Job Title: Supervising Social Worker Pathway & Permanence Team

About the Role: Our client, Vale of Glamorgan Council, is seeking an experienced and committed Supervising Social Worker to join their Pathway & Permanence Team. This role focuses on supporting foster carers and ensuring the stability and permanence of placements for children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise, support, and assess foster carers to ensure high-quality placements for children in care.

Conduct regular home visits, assessments, and training sessions for foster carers.

Work collaboratively with children, foster families, and partner agencies to promote positive outcomes.

Contribute to care planning and permanence planning to ensure long-term stability for children and young people.

Provide professional guidance, risk assessments, and safeguarding interventions where necessary.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in accordance with statutory requirements and local authority policies.

Participate in placement matching and review meetings to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Essential Requirements:

Qualified social worker (Degree in Social Work or equivalent) with current Social Care Wales registration.

Experience working within fostering, children's services, or permanence teams.

Strong knowledge of The Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014, fostering regulations, and safeguarding policies.

Ability to build strong relationships with foster carers, children, and professionals.

Excellent communication, assessment, and problem-solving skills.
