Randstad are proud to be partnering with the Vale of Glamorgan to recruit a number of Social Workers to join the placement teams on a permanent basis.

The Placement Teams assesses and approves Foster Placements on behalf of the local authority in conjunction with the Fostering Panel. This includes an increasing number of kinship placements enabling children to remain within their wider family network.

  • The team provides support to foster carers, with a commitment to promote the recruitment and retention of carers in the Vale area
  • Identifying and commissioning placements for children looked after, within both internal resources and the independent sector
  • The Team includes working with therapeautic service which works with the children and their carers to promote placement stability and prevent any disruption

The team does offer foster carers 24/7 professional fostering support. The support line is ran soley by the fostering staff who are required to be avaliable to talk through the situation and provide advice and support over the phone.

Please note - A worker in the team will be required to be part of the out of hours service on average the commitment will be one overnight each week and less than a full weekened a month. There is an additional allowance paid on top of your salary for this! (This is not a waking night commitment)
