1-1 Learning Support Assistant - Year 3 (Behavioural Support)

Location: Barry Primary SchoolPosition: Full-time, Long-termPay: £84 per day

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide 1-1 support for a Year 3 pupil with behavioural challenges. This is a full-time, long-term position in a supportive primary school in Barry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1-1 support to help the child stay on task and engaged in learning activities.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to create a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Assist the class teacher in differentiating work and supporting the pupil's specific learning needs.
  • Support the child with movement breaks and sensory needs as required.
  • Foster positive social interactions and encourage appropriate behaviour both in and outside the classroom.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a 1-1 role, particularly with challenging behaviours.
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques.
  • Must have an Enhanced DBS and be registered with the EWC.
