Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children with Additional Learning Needs (ALN) and managing challenging behavior? We are looking for a dedicated, Experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Barry, working within a Special Resource Base that provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment for children with diverse needs.

Requirements:
  • Experience: Proven experience working with ALN pupils and managing challenging behaviors.
  • Qualifications: Ideally holds a relevant qualification in education / SEN/ALN.
  • Experience in Specific Settings: Preferably has experience in an SRB, special school, or working on a 1-1 basis with children with ALN.
  • Certifications: Must hold an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and be registered with the EWC (Education Workforce Council).
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students within the SRB, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other professionals to develop and implement effective strategies for student progress.
  • Support children in managing their behavior and overcoming barriers to learning.
