Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a welcoming primary school in Barry. The successful candidate will provide support across various classrooms as needed, contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with daily classroom activities
  • Support small groups in numeracy, literacy, and reading.
  • Collaborate with teachers to meet pupils' individual needs.
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including those with Autism and behavioural challenges.
  • Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a primary school setting.
  • Confidence in supporting learners with ALN.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in a 1:1 support role.
  • Recognised Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
