Multimodal Operator - Air/X-Trade
Our Client is seeking a Multimodal Operator to join their Air/X-Trade department in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced freight professional looking to develop their skills within a dynamic and growing logistics team.
Role Overview:
The Air/X-Trade department handles global airfreight and sea X-Trade shipments. This role will have a stronger focus on airfreight operations, but candidates with experience in other modes of transport will also be considered.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of airfreight movements (domestic & international).
- Assist the X-Trade/Multimodal team with trade movements.
- Support sea export operations and sea X-Trade operations.
- Coordinate with Our Client's China offices.
- Communicate with suppliers and customs teams for clearance arrangements.
- Work with warehouses (internal & third-party) and transport companies for final deliveries.
Experience & Skills:
- Import customs entry experience is an advantage (e.g., tariff classification, duty calculations).
- Bill of Lading experience.
- Professional and confident telephone manner for customer service.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Google Docs).
Internal Systems Used:
- Forward Solutions (Forward Office Freight System, previously FCL)
- Destin8 / CNS systems
Additional Details:
- Probation: 6 months (review after 3 months).
- Occasional weekend work may be required, shared across the team.
