ExperienceGeneral min. 3 years freight forwarding. Ocean experience essential. Air and road also handled on the department so experience in those modes will be advantageous. Knowledge of Incoterms and shipping procedures. Experience with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of Hazardous Goods.
Job DescriptionAble to build and maintain good relationships with our customers, partners and suppliersArrange jobs from quotation to booking to billing. Ensure customers are kept informed at all times of the progress of their shipmentHandle any minor issues with customers/suppliersEnsure jobs are handled, costed and invoiced correctly and in accordance with company policy.Keep manager updated of any issues. Reporting to Operations ManagerHelp and support other colleagues as and when necessaryAccompany colleagues to supplier/customer meetings (if necessary)
RoleAs an Ocean/sea Import Clerk, your primary role is to provide crucial support to a major new client arranging deliveries and clearances (3rd party) of containers from the Far east. Your focus will be on ensuring the successful completion of all shipments and strict adherence to relevant regulations. This involves the following:Scheduling and tracking shipments, closely monitoring delivery schedules, and providing real-time updates to customers.Preparation of ocean/sea Import documentation, including Customs declarations, while ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards.Promptly resolving any issues or discrepancies related to import documentation, customs clearance, or cargo handling.Facilitating clear and effective communication with team members and clients through excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
