About the Role

I am supporting my client to look for an Executive Liaison Officer to provide high-level administrative and strategic support to senior management and political leaders within a public sector organisation. In this key role, you will help to strengthen relationships between senior executives and leaders, ensuring that their work is aligned with the organisation's objectives.

Working in a hybrid environment, you will be responsible for managing calendars, coordinating activities, and handling confidential casework, all while ensuring that meetings and events run smoothly. You will also be expected to provide proactive administrative support, demonstrate political awareness, and manage sensitive information effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive-level business support to senior management and political leaders, including daily management and coordination of activities.
  • Handle scheduling, meeting arrangements, and briefing materials for senior leaders.
  • Take ownership of casework and liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including government representatives and MPs.
  • Organise corporate events, conferences, and away days as needed.
  • Maintain a forward planning system to track reports, correspondence, and actions.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all enquiries related to the senior management team.
  • Work collaboratively to deliver the organisation's objectives and ensure effective reporting.
  • Manage sensitive complaints and inquiries with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Support senior leaders in the transformation agenda and other strategic initiatives.

Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Previous experience supporting senior executives (C-suite level) and political leaders.
  • Ability to assimilate complex information quickly and highlight key issues.
  • Experience managing relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including government representatives and MPs.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet conflicting deadlines.
  • Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively.
  • Excellent organisational and research skills.
