We are currently seeking a Senior Governance Officer to join a dynamic and supportive team on a temporary basis, playing a vital role in the democratic and decision-making processes of a major organisation.

The Role:

As a Senior Governance Officer, you will manage and coordinate the meetings of key decision-making bodies, ensuring that all processes comply with legislative requirements. You will prepare agendas, provide expert procedural guidance, and support the efficient operation of various governance functions. This role is essential for maintaining smooth and effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and manage the timetabling and servicing of meetings.
  • Prepare agendas, reports, and documents within strict deadlines, ensuring all materials are accurate and complete.
  • Provide procedural, legal, and constitutional advice during meetings, ensuring decisions are made in accordance with regulations.
  • Offer expert guidance on governance and democratic processes across the organisation.
  • Take responsibility for the preparation of reports for decision-making bodies, ensuring high standards and compliance with internal processes.
  • Manage the meeting planning process and contribute to improvements in operational efficiency.
Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of governance, legal, and procedural processes.
  • Proven experience managing and supporting meetings for decision-making bodies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to advise and guide senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in preparing detailed reports and ensuring compliance with organisational processes.
