CNC Miller/Turner

Location: Basildon, EssexSalary: Competitive (dependent on experience)Hours: Full-time - different shift patterns available over a 24hr period

Company Overview:My client is a leading engineering company specialising in precision engineering and machining services, committed to delivering high-quality components and solutions to a variety of industries including aerospace, automotive, and manufacturing. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a skilled and experienced CNC Miller/Turner to join their team. Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate CNC Milling and Turning machines to manufacture high-quality components.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and precision in machining.
  • Perform regular machine maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Monitor production processes, adjusting machine settings and parameters as needed.
  • Inspect finished parts using a range of measuring tools to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Work to tight tolerances and ensure that all parts are produced in line with engineering drawings and customer requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to resolve any production issues and optimise processes.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a CNC Miller/Turner, with a solid understanding of CNC programming and machine operation.
  • Experience with both Milling and Turning machines (Mazak, Fanuc, or similar preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Apprenticeship or relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering or a related field (preferred).
