We are seeking a skilled CNC Setter Operator to join our team in Basildon. This role involves setting and operating CNC and Manual Gear Cutting Machine Tools, manufacturing a variety of small-batch components from engineering drawings to within tight tolerances. The ideal candidate will ensure high standards of quality and efficiency, maintaining material traceability, and mentoring new staff as required.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Set and operate CNC and Manual Gear Cutting Machine Tools to produce small-batch components accurately.
  • Ensure all components are manufactured within agreed timescales and according to the manufacturing plan.
  • Maintain the required quality standard for all components produced.
  • Use a wide range of measuring equipment to check components after manufacture.
  • Ensure product protection during manufacturing and transit.
  • Accurately complete all manufacturing paperwork.
  • Mentor new staff and assist in their training process.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and support team members with other tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to all health and safety procedures to create and maintain a safe working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a CNC Setter Operator.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Skilled in the use of CNC and manual gear cutting tools.
  • Familiarity with various measuring equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
