We are seeking a skilled Manual Grinder to join our team in Basildon The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual grinding machines to produce precision-engineered components to high tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate manual surface, cylindrical, or centerless grinding machines.

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

  • Use measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure precision.

  • Set up and adjust grinding machines for optimal performance.

  • Maintain equipment and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Work with various materials, including steel, aluminum, and other alloys.

  • Ensure quality control checks are completed and documented.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Manual Grinder in a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.

  • Proficiency in using measuring instruments.

  • Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience with surface grinding, cylindrical grinding, and toolroom grinding.

  • Knowledge of different grinding wheels and materials.

  • Engineering qualifications or apprenticeship background (preferred).
