We are seeking a skilled Manual Grinder with a keen eye for detail and a strong technical background. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating manual grinding machines, ensuring client orders are completed efficiently and to a high standard. An engineering qualification is desirable, along with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
Day-to-day of the role:- Setting up client jobs on grinding machines and conducting pre-operation tests.
- Manual operation of grinding machines, including adjustments to maintain tolerance levels.
- Performing general machine maintenance and keeping the work area clean and tidy.
- Adhering to strict health and safety regulations within the workplace.
- Completing necessary paperwork and recording data on production and quality logs.
- Operating CNC lathe as required.
- Undertaking any other duties as necessary within the scope of the role.
- An engineering qualification is desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in setting and operating manual grinders.
- Proficiency in using measuring equipment such as verniers and micrometers.
- Experience with CNC lathes is beneficial.
- Experience in the aerospace industry is an advantage.
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documents and specifications.
- Competent computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow instructions.
- Capacity to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Mechanically and technically minded.
- Self-motivated with a ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Manual lifting and periods of prolonged standing are required.
- Wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
