Are you an experienced Credit Controller looking for a new opportunity?Our client, a well-established and reputable company based in Basildon, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their finance team. This is a temporary-to-permanent position with an immediate start for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a portfolio of accounts and ensuring timely collection of outstanding payments
  • Regularly liaising with customers to resolve any payment queries or disputes
  • Processing and allocating payments to customer accounts
  • Maintaining accurate records of communications and transactions
  • Performing credit checks and assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers
  • Reporting on aged debt and providing updates to senior management
  • Supporting the finance team with month-end reporting and reconciliations
  • Ensuring adherence to credit policies and procedures to minimise risk

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in credit control or accounts receivable roles
  • Strong understanding of credit control processes and best practices
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
  • Good organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel) and experience using finance software (SAGE, Xero, etc.) would be an advantage
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving
