Are you a meticulous and driven Credit Controller with a passion for ensuring financial processes run smoothly? Our client, a growing company based in Laindon, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Credit Controller to join their finance team.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain a portfolio of accounts, ensuring outstanding debts are collected in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Review and process invoices, ensuring accuracy before sending to clients.

  • Monitor accounts receivable and take appropriate action on overdue accounts, including making phone calls, sending letters, and negotiating payment terms.

  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers to resolve queries and issues professionally.

  • Prepare regular reports on account status, cash flow, and aged debtors for management.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting processes.

  • Liaise with other departments to ensure accurate billing and timely payments.

  • Process and allocate payments and issue credit notes where necessary.

  • Assist with the credit control strategy to minimise bad debts.



Skills and Experience Required:

  • Proven experience as a Credit Controller or in a similar finance role.

  • Strong knowledge of credit control processes, debt recovery, and invoicing procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, or similar) and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).

  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.

  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach.



Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced or similar industry.

  • AAT or other relevant finance qualification (desirable but not essential).
