RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive Client, who are currently looking for a Commercial Vehicle IVI & DI Systems Engineer to support and join their expanding team.
Position Description:
Rate: Negotiable (via Umbrella PAYE)
Sourcing/Program Finance Status.
Lead the To4 (Team of four) meetings with Finance, Cost Estimating, Commodity and Program Purchasing. Provide the engineering perspective for supplier selection by purchase. Prepare Engineering Statement of Work (ESOW), the specifications, the Engineering concept and Attachment 3 as input to the RFQ pack and provide input to the ASAP tool and support cost negotiations between Purchasing and Supplier.
Program
Adhere to GPDS process and related program timings & document deliverables.
Lead appropriate Antenna PMST, support other PMSTs and interfacing activities and represent in PMT.
Support Program Reviews
Requirements Management (Specification, FSMS, Part Verification/Validation, Deviation)
Ensure compliance to all applicable requirements
Support Global Core teams with initiatives from Benchmarking events
Agile software delivery of software collaborated with in-house/external supplier for IVI and DI parts.
Design (component development)
Manage the Supplier for development of Antenna and/or associated interfaces and support the application into Vehicle Programs and ensure support for Program Launch.
Support other interfacing activities and PAT’s especially the Feasibility checkpoint reviews.
Support cross-functional team working with STA
- Electrical system interface/system specifications/Functional integration/Diagnostics
- Mechanical Interface/Fixing/Geometric Development/Virtual Service
- Assembly in next higher assembly & vehicle

- Component Manufacturing
- General/Engineering sign-off
- Change management/Quality

Skills Required:
- Competent in engineering tools such as CANalyser/Diagnostics/CaNoe/ADB/WinSCP
- Competent using office applications such as excel, outlook, project and word
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance and liaison skills
Skills Preferred:
Proficient in CAN tools/diagnostics debug tools (ETH/CAN)
Experience Required:
- Excellent analytical and strategic skills
- Project management skills with a thorough attention to detail
- Strong communication and presentation and team skills
- Experience of working within global teams
- Strong IT skills (e.g. JIRA, Excel, Teamcenter, WERS)
- Ability to demonstrate use of initiative, perseverance and liaison skills
- Full UK driving licence
Experience Preferred:
Experience of using FEDE, WERS and/or similar systems is an advantage
Knowledge of Transit vehicle Electrical Systems and Components is an advantage
Education Required:
Engineering Degree
Education Preferred:
Electrical/Electronics/Computing Degree
Additional Information:
** INSIDE IR35**
Hybrid role with requirement to be in office 2 days a week. However, based on workload requirements, flexibility is needed as there will be the need for in-office tasks (e.g. testing etc)
Full Driving License is Required
Travel: Launch/supplier support and testing (may be required)
