Are you an experienced and skilled Finance Manager looking for a new opportunity to lead and add value to our client's finance department? Are you ready to take on the challenge of modernising accounting practises and driving financial excellence? If so, we have the perfect role for you!

Our client is seeking a Qualified Finance Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in providing financial leadership and guidance to the organisation. As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our client's accounting records, compliance with accounting standards and company policies, and participating in strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function within the organisation, providing expertise and guidance for strategic decision making.
  • Implement modern accounting practises, incorporating new technologies and automation as necessary.
  • Liaise with third-party accountants to ensure statutory and HMRC reporting compliance.
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, ensuring optimal financial management.
  • Oversee and develop the accounts team, providing coaching and mentoring to support their professional growth.
  • Review monthly profit and loss reports and present at management review meetings.
  • Manage the sales and purchase ledgers, credit control, and credit checking.
  • Oversee bank reconciliations, petty cash, and credit card reconciliations.
  • Manage payroll and ensure timely returns to HMRC.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and corporation tax returns.
  • General office management responsibilities, including managing the company car fleet, stationery, and leasing requirements.
  • Manage the company's insurances, ensuring cost-effective coverage.
  • Oversee purchasing activities for manufacturing raw materials and goods for resale.
  • Maintain accounting records for property management company and liaise with managing agents as necessary.
  • Manage the order processing function from receipt to dispatch.
  • Collaborate with HR and Legal functions when necessary.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in senior accounts management in a similar business.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational, proactive, and deadline-focused skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and influence others positively.
  • Proficient in creating profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flows.
  • Solid numeracy, literacy, and general IT skills.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with Sage accounting software or similar.
  • Track record of making sound commercial decisions.
  • An accounting/finance qualification (ACCA or CIMA) is essential.
