The Role: Warehouse and Forklift Operative - Basildon

One to One Personnel are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic individual to join our client based in Basildon as a Warehouse and Forklift Operative. As a valuable member of the team, you will play an important role in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse and supporting our logistics activities.

In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of warehouse tasks, including receiving, storing, and dispatching goods. You will also operate a forklift to move and stack materials, ensuring efficient and safe handling. Additionally, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate inventory records and organising the warehouse.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in their attention to detail. If you have previous experience in a similar role and possess a valid forklift license, we would love to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a forklift to receive, store, and move goods within the warehouse
  • Perform quality checks to ensure accuracy and condition of received goods
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using computer systems or manual tracking
  • Assist with order picking, packing, and dispatching of goods
  • Keep the warehouse clean and organised at all times
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor
  • Participate in regular stocktaking activities to ensure inventory accuracy

Main duties

  • Assisting in the picking of jobs
  • Loading vans
  • Forklifting
  • Delivery driving (local and national if you wish to earn overtime)
  • Picking and packing fixings
  • Yard Duties (Recycling redundant product, yard housekeeping etc)

Requirements

  • Valid forklift license Counterbalance or Bendi and proven experience operating a forklift
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Prior experience in a warehouse or logistics role is preferred
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management systems
  • Driving licence

The Package

  • Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:30 - 30 mins (lunch + 2 x breaks)
  • Rate will depend on experience starting from £12.50 p/h +
  • Full training plan provided and implemented
  • 28 days holiday
  • Temporary to Permanent position
