Our client, who specialises in Freight Forwarding through multimodal services, are currently seeking a Customs Entries Clerk to focus on Imports for their team based in Essex.

The role of the Customs Entries Clerk is to prepare and manage various customs documentation, to ensure compliance with customs regulations and facilitate the timely clearance of shipments.

You will be monitoring and tracking the status of customs clearance processes, providing regular updates to internal teams and customers.

Customs Entries Clerk duties include:

  • Complete customs declarations, ensuring all Import clearance processes are complete in a timely manner.
  • Process Import declarations.
  • Deal with customer enquiries, ensuring you are providing accurate advice and estimates when required.
  • Obtain Bill of Ladings and correct Tariff Headings.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, including customs authorities, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other regulatory agencies, to ensure proper and timely submission of customs documentation.

Experience required:

  • 2 years experience in a similar role
  • HMRC - Customs declarations experience, Imports and exports.
  • Experience of dealing with T1's, POA, EAD, Transit documents
  • Attention to detail is extremely important to ensure the business is compliant and passes HMRC audits, including risk identification and mitigation.
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to keep all relevant departments aligned in terms of the customs declarations for the day's shipments.

We're keen to speak to freight professionals who are fully conversant with different customs entries and current regulations and have experience of Destin8, Descarte and CNS Systems.

This is a full time, permanent position, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm, with no weekends required!

In return, the successful Customs Entries Clerk will be offered £28,500.
