A Global Freight Forwarder in Basildon is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Import Clerk to join their team.

General duties will include:

To maintain and achieve high standards in customer relations.
Taking Ocean Freight Import Bookings
Completing Import documentation
Customs entries
Final delivery instructions and invoicing
Manage daily tasks / files always ensuring focus on company and customer objectives.
Process files to include all the necessary documentation, costs & sales revenue in a timely manner.
To maintain and share with colleagues as appropriate, personal knowledge of all relevant daily challenges.
Use personal judgement and initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions to challenges and obstacles in all activity and procedures.

Experience / Skills required :

Conversant with all aspects of Ocean Import Freight
Methodical / Pro-active approach to problem solving
Good analytical and numerical skills
Commercial awareness, with a can-do attitude.
Systems knowledge - Cargowise / Destn8 / CNS / MCP
Pro-active approach to problem solving
Must be positive, self-motivated, enthusiastic and flexible, good team player willing to lead by example
Excellent written and oral communication skill

Salary for this role will depend on how many years' experience you have within the Freight industry and how long you have been working within an Import Ocean Role.
