Our client, a leader within the Defence and Aerospace sector, are currently seeking a Material Controller to join their team in Essex on a 6 Month contract (fully on-site).
This exciting role within the Defence and Aerospace sector in the Essex area, involves overseeing the flow of materials within a production environment to ensure they align with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).
Key Responsibilities:- Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area
- Maintaining traceability of all materials and finished goods produced
- Contributing to the creation and updating of the Master Production Schedule
- Organising the return to vendors of faulty or incorrect materials
- Working with engineers to maintain build standard integrity
- Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities
- Ensuring material availability in line with the Master Production Schedule
- Creating shipping documentation and booking UK and export shipments via freight forwarders/couriers
- Organising the processing of customer repairs
- Monitoring shelf-life products and controlling Government-furnished assets
- Liaising with external suppliers and customers
- Managing inventory and resolving SAP system issues
- Experience in materials control and planning
- Computer literacy, especially with MS Excel and company IT systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers, and subject matter experts
- Accurate planning skills
- Currently SC cleared or ability to obtain SC clearance
- Certification to use a forklift, reach truck, pallet stacker truck, or MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)
