Our client, a leader within the Defence and Aerospace sector, are currently seeking a Material Controller to join their team in Essex on a 6 Month contract (fully on-site).

This exciting role within the Defence and Aerospace sector in the Essex area, involves overseeing the flow of materials within a production environment to ensure they align with the Master Production Schedule (MPS).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organising and issuing materials to the manufacturing area
  • Maintaining traceability of all materials and finished goods produced
  • Contributing to the creation and updating of the Master Production Schedule
  • Organising the return to vendors of faulty or incorrect materials
  • Working with engineers to maintain build standard integrity
  • Generating and managing works orders for new build and repair activities
  • Ensuring material availability in line with the Master Production Schedule
  • Creating shipping documentation and booking UK and export shipments via freight forwarders/couriers
  • Organising the processing of customer repairs
  • Monitoring shelf-life products and controlling Government-furnished assets
  • Liaising with external suppliers and customers
  • Managing inventory and resolving SAP system issues
Job Requirements:
  • Experience in materials control and planning
  • Computer literacy, especially with MS Excel and company IT systems
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of users, managers, and subject matter experts
  • Accurate planning skills
  • Currently SC cleared or ability to obtain SC clearance
Desirable Skills:
  • Certification to use a forklift, reach truck, pallet stacker truck, or MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)
