Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Fitter/Installer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing furniture at client locations, ensuring high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong understanding of furniture assembly, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Furniture Assembly: Assemble furniture, such as wardrobes, cabinets, desks, and chairs, based on specifications and assembly instructions.
- Installation: Install fitted furniture, including kitchens, wardrobes, and shelving units, at client sites while adhering to measurements and layout plans.
- Site Preparation: Inspect and prepare work areas for safe and efficient furniture installation, including measuring spaces and ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Quality Control: Ensure all furniture is installed securely and aligns with company and client expectations.
- Customer Interaction: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, provide updates on progress, and address any concerns.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any issues during assembly or installation, such as misaligned fittings or missing parts.
- Tool Maintenance: Maintain and operate tools, equipment, and vehicles in accordance with safety regulations.
- Health & Safety: Follow safety guidelines and procedures to minimise risks during installations.
- Experience: Proven experience in furniture fitting, installation, or carpentry.
- Technical Skills: Strong ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.
- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift and move heavy furniture and work in various environments, including confined spaces.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting skills to handle on-site challenges effectively.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Attention to Detail: High standards of precision and quality in work.
- Tools Knowledge: Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment.
- Driving License: A valid driver's license may be required, depending on the job's travel needs.
- Certifications in carpentry or furniture installation.
- Experience with bespoke or custom furniture installations.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards in construction or installation environments.
- Travel to client sites for installations.
- Work may involve long hours, including weekends, depending on project deadlines.
