Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Advisor

Basildon

£35,000 to £40,000 per annum

Monday to Friday - 8:00am to £5:30pm

One to One are proud to be working with an innovative, market leading manufacturing business based in the Basildon area. Thanks to a continuing demand in business, our client is recruiting for an experienced Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Advisor.

You will be responsible for Assisting in all elements of the company IMS (Integrated Management System) including writing quality documentation, assisting in the environmental requirements for each project and assisting in the writing and formulation of the health and safety documentation. Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and in addition liaising with the Project Directors and Board Directors on matters relating to HSEQ.

To be considered for this role, you must have prior experience with ISO 45001 and preferably a background in the construction or manufacturing industry. A minimum of four years of UK-based work experience is required.

Job Purpose

To ensure commitment to complete every project on time and on budget, maintaining the preferred status with all the projects it undertakes is maintained, this role will be responsible for:-

Quality

  • To assist with the writing of quality documentation for each project including work plans, quality plans and environmental plans
  • To assist with the continuing improvement of the companies IMS process management and to help update and review all documentation relevant for the IMS system including ISO 9001
  • To assist with the quality auditing for each department throughout the business including estimating, design, procurement, manufacture, and installation
  • To assist site management teams with quality documentation and liaise with client site management with all matters regarding quality documentation

Environmental

  • To assist with the writing of environmental documentation for each project including environmental plans
  • To assist with the continuing improvement of the companies IMS process management and to help update and review all documentation relevant for the IMS system including ISO 14001
  • To assist with the gathering of information to complete the monthly environmental returns including waste returns, FSC documentation etc
  • To assist with new FSC procedures manual development
  • To assist with the gathering of the required BREEAM, WELL, LEAD environmental standards etc
  • Evidence and documentation for the required projects
  • To assist site management teams with quality documentation and liaise with client site management with all matters regarding quality documentation

Health and Safety

  • Assist with the writing of health and safety documentation for each project including risk and method statements
  • Assist project teams to understand and fulfil their roles regarding H&S by undertaking site visits and H&S quality audits
  • Assist site management teams with documentation and liaise with client site management with all matters regarding H&S. To compile and present evidence and documentation to external auditors including Achilles and Considerate Contractor
  • Assist with the continuing improvement of the companies IMS process management and to help update and review all documentation relevant for the IMS system including ISO 45001
  • Assist with the daily running of the H&S department regarding the joinery manufacturing, upholstery department and metalwork shop and offer advice and assistance to the various departments as an ongoing continuous improvement process

To undertake any other duties within your skills confidence to support the attainment of the Companies key objectives

  • Ensure continuous improvement of role and development of self
  • Seek to continuously improve the quality and value of administrative support provided by working with key colleagues

Responsible for positively contributing to a safe work environment ensuring compliance with relevant statutory regulations and quality standards. Protect all personal information in adherence with GDPR.

  • Complete all mandatory Health and Safety training and any corporate refresher training where required

Skills Required

  • A working knowledge of the ISO quality, environmental and health and safety standards, including implementation of quality auditing and required documentation
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel etc
  • Quality, Environmental and H&S transferrable knowledge in either construction, manufacturing, or joinery-based activities
  • Good communication skills which would include delivering reports and audit findings to all levels of the business including the senior leadership team and board level directors
