Location: BasildonDepartment: Road TransportReporting to: Branch ManagerSalary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum
Overview:We are seeking a Road Operations Manager to oversee comprehensive road freight operations across the UK and Europe for our client. This role is integral to managing the daily logistics and transport activities, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily road operations for UK and European clients, ensuring effective execution and compliance with all regulations.
- Negotiate and oversee client contracts including documentation, delivery schedules, and freight charges.
- Maintain strong communication and coordination with branch managers and other key stakeholders on special projects and client agreements.
- Develop and sustain relationships with road suppliers to ensure high-quality service at competitive costs.
- Accurate and timely handling of invoicing, reporting, and record-keeping.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in road operations management within the EU, with a thorough understanding of regional logistics and legal frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and adaptability to other operational software.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a similar role managing road transport operations across the EU is highly desirable.
