Our client located in Basildon is looking for a Warehouse Manager to join their team!

Job Title: Warehouse Manager – Temporary

Location: Basildon

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Duration: Approximately 3-6 months

Purpose: Our clients warehouse is at the heart of their operations, dispatching parts and equipment to our team of Service and Installation Engineers across the UK. As the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the performance of the warehouse and driving continuous improvement. You will also manage the team, coordinate logistical processes, direct activities related to goods receiving, product inventory and replenishment, perform daily inspections, and ensure Health and Safety (H&S) compliance and warehouse standards are adhered to.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, providing first-class service both internally and externally with a focus on future planning.
  • Supervise and coordinate the team and their workload to optimise performance.
  • Drive the performance management process for all team members, ensuring frequent, timely, and collaborative reviews throughout the year.
  • Continually assess and review product handling and storage requirements to grow and develop warehouse operations systems.
  • Coordinate and manage ad hoc cycle counts and periodic stocktaking to ensure inventories are managed accurately.
  • Support other duties in the warehouse during periods of team absence.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills gained from previous experience in a warehouse environment, coupled with extensive knowledge of warehouse operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build excellent working relationships.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail with the ability to occasionally work with conflicting deadlines.
  • Resilience and the ability to stay positive in difficult situations.
  • Proficient in the use of all MS Office applications with knowledge of inventory software and systems.
  • A H&S qualification would be ideal, but a willingness to gain a H&S qualification appropriate to the role is acceptable.
