Our client is currently recruiting an experienced and safety minded Warehouse Supervisor to work with them in their Basildon based Warehouse. Reporting to the Depot Director, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for running an effective and efficient warehouse through the management of the warehouse team to deliver excellent and timely service to the delivery team.

This privately owned Company pride themselves on customer service and boast an impressive product range of over 20,000 parts featuring some of the best known brands in the industry. Operating from 3 locations (Walthamstow, Colchester and Basildon) they offer an express same day service covering areas such as London, Herts, Essex, Kent and East Anglia.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Ensure the warehouse team works in an efficient and safe manner, and take responsibility for overall health and safety.

Managing Stock

  • Ensure that all inbound stock is checked, allocated to the correct locations and any anomalies or damages are reported immediately
  • Ensure all stock movements out of the building are accurately controlled
  • Ensure stock is kept safe, secure and in good condition
  • Ensure returns are processed are dealt with in accordance with current procedure

Managing deliveries

  • Through the team, ensure orders are picked accurately and promptly ready for despatch via the delivery team
  • Ensure the accuracy of the picking and van loading to ensure a minimal error rate

Systems and processes

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations at all times (particularly Manual Handling practices)
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and efficient environment for the team to work in
  • Comply with usual warehouse processes

You will:

  • Have a minimum of 1 years’ experience as a Warehouse Supervisor
  • Proven track record in warehouse management, with strong experience in a Logistics environment is preferred.
  • Be experienced in managing warehouse teams
  • Experience of using and/or implementing barcoding would be an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations and proficiency in MS Office packages.
  • Be reliable and hardworking and
  • Be eligible to work in the UK
