Role Overview:
As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient management of production, maintenance, supply chain, and planning. Your key focus will be driving customer satisfaction through continuous improvement in manufacturing complex turned and milled components on 5-axis CNC machines, utilizing modern manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- People Management: Lead and develop a high-performing team to support organizational growth.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant policies.
- SQCDP Focus: Achieve excellence in Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and People metrics.
- Objective Setting and Performance Assessment: Set clear objectives, assess team performance, and identify skill gaps.
- Business Operations Optimisation: Streamline operations to maximize efficiency.
- Best Practices Implementation: Continuously improve operational performance.
- Production and Supply Chain Management: Ensure all customer specifications and delivery timelines are met.
- Production Planning: Effectively coordinate production targets.
- Process Improvement: Enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Performance Reviews and Analysis: Conduct thorough reviews and manage risk assessments.
- Resource Management: Efficiently allocate technical skills and resources.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Leadership: Strong communication and leadership skills with excellent organizational capabilities.
- Change Management: Resilient and optimistic, with an openness to lead change.
- Industry Experience: Significant leadership experience in a machining-manufacturing role, preferably in the aerospace sector.
- Education: Manufacturing/Engineering degree or equivalent qualifications preferred.
- Business Acumen: High commercial acumen with a good understanding of P&L, manufacturing, procurement/supply chain, and industry regulations.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with Advanced Product Quality Planning, Kaizen, lean manufacturing, and ERP/MRP systems.
